He gets up early in the morning to feed, water, and groom his herd of reindeer. He mucks out the stalls and checks all the fences. Then he goes to the plant, where he holds meetings with the manager elves to discuss the manufacture of toys and logistics. He checks the records and accounting books of the operation. He examines the list of good boys and girls who will get presents next Christmas. That done, he has a hot lunch with the missus, and after lunch, he goes to the garage to repair, improve, and generally tinker with his collection of sleighs. On Saturdays, he harnesses a couple of reindeer to a small sleigh and travels around his territory to check up on the locals: polar bears, seals, walruses, to make sure they’re all in good shape and happy. Then it’s dinner time, when he enjoys a cup of homemade egg nog, with black rum, of course, and after the dishes are done, he hangs with Mrs. Claus and the elves in front of a cozy fireplace with a crackling fire. Some evenings, if the mood strikes, they play a couple of rounds of backgammon or Fish.
