So most of what makes people hate Christmas is their desire to be edgy and hate sonething that most everyone else loves. I’ve known many non-Christians who still enjoyed and appreciated Christmas. I know for me personally it’s an immense joy spending it with my loved ones, still, all these years later. I fully believe everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I don’t mean to criticize them and be rude… it’s completely fine if they don’t enjoy Christmas. But please, just don’t be vindictive and try to ruin it for other people. I doubt that many people would do that consciously… but even just being cold and unfriendly to others who wish you a “Merry Christmas” is kind of uncalled for The Blood Of Jesus Shirt . If someone wished me a “Happy Kwanza”, despite the fact that I don’t celebrate it, I’d smile and wish them a merry Kwanza back… because I’m not a miserable curmudgeon lol.
Rome also celebrated one of their Gods at this time during a celebration called Saturnalia. During this time, they worshipped the God Saturn, who was the god of agriculture. Saturnalia was celebrated right before the winter solstice and went on for a The Blood Of Jesus Shirt . The Roman social order flipped upside down at this time with the poorest of the poor actually being in charge of the city! Around this time, Romans also celebrated Juvenalia, which was a celebration in honor of the Roman children. And, on December 25th specifically, a holiday in honour of the birthday of the God Mithra, the God of the Sun (Sol Invictus) was celebrated.

While this might seem small and idiosyncratic, I was defining myself intellectually and financially and even as an employee, as different, because of The Blood Of Jesus Shirt about myself, money, etc. than my coworkers—-particularly, my Black coworkers. I recognize that’s such class based things and critical thinking make me stand out among Black people and if not admired, then regarded well among White people—-for some of the same and different racialized projections.
Some friends of my girlfriend/later wife were Muslims, and shared books bout Islam. She read them, I read them too. Books by this Iranian fellow, Mujtaba Musawi Lari. Very philosophical, talking in a modern way, intelligently discussing social sciences, science, technology, society, culture and faith together.I appreciated in the Quran the echoing of the Biblical stories, while summing it up to say what it alll meant. I loved the inclusive idea that prophets came to every land (Oh, maybe Buddha and Confucius and some of the Greek and Egyptian thinkers and philosophers were actually prophets whose stories got confused over time).
