Took a lot of head scratching to answer this.
If a man truly loves you he should want to be a good man. However a man should always want to be a good man. And he should want to be that for himself, not just for you.
If a man tries to change himself to be what his partner wants him to be, he is a puppet.
If he isn’t what the partner wants him to be, if he isn’t a good man already, then the relationship is being set up for failure.
